Yemen is in the midst of a massive humanitarian crisis that only continues to deteriorate. Today, more than 22 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, and 17 million people -75% of the population- are considered food insecure. The country, crippled by conflict, is sadly now on the brink of famine.

Since the war started in 2015, people continue to flee violence. Over three million people have been forced to leave their homes due to the bombing and fighting, and more than 10,200 children have been killed or injured in the war, according to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

In addition to the ongoing conflict, the humanitarian situation in Yemen continues to deteriorate with fuel shortages, rising food prices and a severe lack of basic services.

Most recently, Yemen recorded the world's worst cholera outbreak. More than 1 million cases have been reported and over 2,200 people have died since the start of the epidemic. Many more are now at risk, already weakened by hunger and the effects of war.
