Libya Floods

Context

On Sunday, September 10th, Libya experienced a devastating flood caused by Cyclone Daniel, resulting in over 5,300 casualties, more than 10,000 individuals unaccounted for, and over 40,000 people internally displaced. The torrential downpour led to the collapse of two dams, which in turn washed away entire residential areas in the city of Derna and sent them into the sea.
