More than 2 million people across the Caribbean, the majority in Haiti, have been affected by the devastation left behind by Hurricane Matthew. And more than 1 million need immediate assistance. (source: United Nations and Government)
The Category 4 storm, with winds reaching up to 230 km/h and torrential rains, killed at least 800 people and displaced thousands. Homes and crops have been destroyed, and widespread flooding poses a particular risk for waterborne diseases.
With Haiti still recovering from the 2010 earthquake, many people were already living in terrible situations before the Hurricane. They need help now, more than ever.
The member agencies of the Humanitarian Coalition are already on the ground, providing life-saving aid to survivors.
Your generous donations are helping us reach more people with basic necessities such as food, water, shelter and basic health care.
