How do we choose our members
Our members are trusted Canadian humanitarian aid organizations. They have the ability to respond with immediate lifesaving assistance when and where it is needed the most. Membership is open to organizations that meet specific quality standards and requirements.
How much do members receive
The percentage of funds that each member organization will receive from an appeal is established ahead of time. When a disaster strikes, only members who are already working or have partners near the disaster zone will receive funds. A minimum of 85% of appeal revenue is spent on the emergency itself and helping survivors rebuild their lives.
How do we ensure quality
The members of the Humanitarian Coalition are committed to upholding Codes of Conduct and International Standards in their work. These standards ensure excellence in their programs while also providing accountability to donors, peers, and the people being helped.
