Nepal Earthquake 2015

A 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal earlier today. The powerful quake struck 80km east of Pokhara, about half way between the town and the capital Kathmandu at 11:46 am local time. The member agencies of the Humanitarian Coalition are ramping up assessments and aid delivery to assist survivors. While we are still collecting information, there are reports of significant numbers of injuries and unconfirmed reports of fatalities, with buildings and monuments reported collapsed throughout the capital Kathmandu. Extensive damage is also feared in the many villages nearer the epicenter of the earthquake.
